Become a member of Wilmington Rowing Center and join a group of dynamic people in their pursuit of the ultimate sport of rowing.
We welcome you all even if you don’t know how to row. If you don’t know how to row, take some of our “Learn to Row” classes. These classes will give you the opportunity to learn the basics of rowing and get you out on the water in a safe, fun environment. Once you have completed these lessons you are eligible to become a member of WRC to continue your education through our recreational and racing venues.
If you do know how to row, we can offer you opportunities such as pure recreational fun or the challenges of racing on either our men’s or women’s Masters racing teams.
All “Learn to Row” classes and racing teams are coached by qualified individuals who are well trained in every aspect of the sport.
Membership includes use of the club boats – Eights, Fours, Quads, Doubles and singles. Stationary rowing machines (ergs) and free weights are also available.
Wilmington Rowing Center is run entirely by volunteers. We have a Board of Directors and various committees that help us keep the house in order, repair equipment, help with regattas, special events, etc. The members are the ones that make WRC a great rowing club. We hope that when you become a member you will bring your special skills with you, no matter how great or small. Oh, and I forgot to mention, we have lots of fun at WRC and have been known to build lifelong relationships.
Annual membership fees are $400 per year payable in late winter. We have a $200 non-refundable initiation fee. The first half of the fee ($100) is requested with your $400 annual fee. The second half ($100) is payable your second year of membership.
To become a member please fill out the membership form, waiver and swim certificate found on the forms section of this website. Return the completed forms plus your $500 payment to the address listed on the membership application.
Once all of your information has been collected you will be contacted by the Membership Chairperson, Nancy Falasco for your new member orientation.
